St. Colman’s High & Sixth Form College, in partnership with Assumption Grammar School, forms
part of the Ballynahinch Learning Community. Together, we are currently the only
providers of Post-16 education within the local area.
The leadership teams at St. Colman’s High and Assumption Grammar School have been working
closely together to strengthen collaboration at Post-16 level. By pooling resources, expertise, and
opportunities for joint learning, we are committed to offering an enriched educational
experience that better prepares students for their future. This partnership allows students to
access a broader selection of subjects, extracurricular activities, and career pathways, ensuring
they benefit from the best possible opportunities as they progress through Post-16 education.
Bridging year
In addition, we offer a bridging year that supports students in transitioning to A-Levels. This
unique opportunity allows students to retake Mathematics or English while also gaining
additional GCSE qualifications to enhance their academic profile. This program is designed to
ensure students are fully prepared for the challenges of Post-16 education and strengthen their
foundation for future success.
