NUMERACY
At St. Colman’s we believe that Numeracy is a fundamental skill that empowers students to navigate the world around them. Our focus is on
raising the visibility and awareness of Numeracy across the curriculum, raising students' confidence when working with numbers, and
demonstrating the relevant links between Numeracy and other subjects and the real world.
We encourage parents to support our vision that Numeracy is not limited to Mathematics classes. Numeracy is a collection of skills that students
use in various subjects, from Science and Technology to Religious Studies and English. By integrating Numeracy into all aspects of the
curriculum, we help students develop a comprehensive understanding of the subject and its practical applications.
We strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable and confident when working with numbers. We provide a
range of activities and hands-on experiences that cater to different learning styles and abilities. By celebrating students' successes and providing
individualised support, we build their self-esteem and empower them to tackle Mathematical challenges with enthusiasm.
