Summary of Admissions Criteria for Year 8
If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available places, the following criteria will be applied in order:

Residence or Primary School: Priority is given to applicants residing in or attending any primary schools
within the parishes of Magheradroll, Dromara, Drumbo/Carryduff, or for whom St Colman’s is the nearest
suitable school.
Neighbouring Parishes: Applicants from any primary schools or residences in nearby parishes, such as
Annahilt, Drumbeg, Killaney, Killmore, Loughinisland, and Saintfield, or for whom St Colman’s is the
nearest suitable school.
Siblings: Applicants with a sibling currently attending St Colman’s.
Tiebreaker: When necessary, the initial letter(s) of the applicant’s surname (as per the birth certificate) will
determine selection, according to a predetermined order. Further alphabetical criteria and date of birth
may be used if needed.
